Proof reading

It is called, or so they tell me, the “first-pass” version.

It’s a galley proof of my novel, “Crashers.” The sheets of paper are 8-and-a-half by 11 but the words are whittled down to hardback-novel size. It is going to be 343 pages deep. The font will be Garamond 11.5.

I’m seeing what my novel will look like. It’s my last chance to make any changes.

We now know when the book will be released: June 22, 2010. That’s less than six months away. And I’m staring at the pages of the first-pass version – I don’t actually know what that term means, but that’s OK. I’m cool. This is all so much fun.

The printer has noted that “feathering” is allowed in the manuscript. Again, no freaking idea what that means. And don’t care. It’s all good.

This is so much fun….
