Best mystery ever
Best mystery novel of all time?
My first instinct is to say “City of Suspects” by Katy King, but I recognize that my answer is a bit self-serving, in that I’m hoping to sleep with her in the not-too-distant future.
Best mystery novel by an author I don’t have an outside chance of having sex with? “The List of Adrian Messenger” by Philip MacDonald. He’s a brilliant novelist. And the sex-thing is deeply unlikely, in that he is A) straight and B) dead.
Oh, when I say, “The List of Adrian Messenger,” please note that I don’t mean the 1963 movie version, which sucks. The 1959 novel. Absolutely brilliant.
