Back in the day…

In 1999, I was hired to be the education reporter for editor Barb Curtin at the Statesman Journal in Salem, Ore. That same year, I started the research for Crashers.

Smash-cut 11 years, and Barb writes this delightful feature about Crashers, which appeared in this Sunday’s Statesman Journal.

Full-circle, B.

By the way, photo by the talented Thomas Patterson. Nicely done, me boyo.

Eight days until the book release. And in World Cup news: The U.S. surprised the planet by tying England 1-1 in South Africa. The Germans are frighteningly good. And the Ghanaian fans may be the coolest in the world.
