Blessed are the Cheesemakers

Got to speak this weekend at Tillamook’s shiny new library. Wow, what a great facility!

I was a newspaper reporter for 20 years, and I came to believe you can learn a lot about a community by how it maintains its City Hall, parks and library. The Tillamook library has “community pride” written all over it. It’s fun, flashy and filled with good cheer. If I lived in Tillamook, it would be my unofficial writing space. How could you not be creative in that environment? Also: Best. Children’s. Section. EVER!

Also got to visit Rainy Day Books in Tillamook (Webster, the official, calico ambassador, says “hi.”) and Bob’s Beach Books in Lincoln City. It’s independent booksellers like that who make this job so damn fun.

Thank you all!

  1. How wonderful to have a new mystery writer as fine as your writing is

  2. What an awesome story, even put my new Patterson down, when is the next. How wonderful for the public and mystery readers to get a new author.
