Big honor last night

Lovely event last night, as I received 2011 Spotted Owl Award from Friends of Mystery. The Spotted Owl is given each year for outstanding mystery or thriller by a Northwest author.
Best-selling Northwest author Phil Margolin was in the room last night. That was generous of him. Bill Cameron and John Walsdorf were there, too. Plus, Katy King and my mom and dad.
Such a neat honor, and humbling. I was probably the fourth or fifth best writer in the room (Katy ranks higher). Thanks to everyone for making it a night to remember.
