Steinhauer Under Surveillance
Ben MacIntyre of the New York Times Sunday Book Review has a terrific review for the thriller “An American Spy” from Minotaur Books.
Author Olen Steinhauer spins complex confections that delve deeply into the realm of international espionage. It’s a world well trod these days by Portland’s Greg Rucka but mostly mapped by great John le Carré.
(MacIntire points out that many purveyors of spy fiction used to be spies themselves, include le Carré, Ian Fleming and Graham Greene. Steinhauer? Unknown.)
“An American Spy” is part of Steinhauer’s series, which include “The Tourist” and “The Nearest Exit.” Well worth checking out.
